Free Standing Chimney

Freestanding chimneys, also known as column chimneys, are self-supporting, free-standing structures designed to remove smoke from heating units. Column chimneys are used to remove flue gas and other combustion products from boilers and other heating installations. Column chimneys are self-supporting chimneys and are a variant of truss chimneys. The column chimney is a metal enclosure (frame) with up to five exhaust Wells inside. The design is to exclude not only gases generated by the operation of the boiler room, but also condensate and sediment. Dirt can be removed from the lower part according to the customer's request. If the metal structure is subjected to high wind loads (due to climate and altitude), a spoiler, a dynamic vibration damper, is installed in the upper third. Platforms and ladders for maintenance/inspection of signal lights can be manufactured according to customer requirements. The base is mounted in a metal basket, which in turn is laid in the foundation. The column chimney is made of stainless steel.

Wound steel. The thickness of the steel plate is calculated according to the operating conditions (erosion and smoke exhaust temperature), the climatic characteristics of the operating area and the operating parameters of the boiler room. In order to prevent condensation from forming in the gas lines, insulation is provided. It is externally mounted on the exhaust shaft and is traditionally made of basalt wool with a thickness of 50-60 mm (up to 120 mm in rare cases).

The outer surface is treated with zinc-containing paint and varnish. This type of chimney is a pillar in which up to five gas pipes of different diameters can be placed. The shell (column) is made of steel plate whose thickness is calculated according to the operating conditions (ambient temperature, wind load). Fasteners for vertical components of chimneys - flanges. The outer surface of the pipe is coated with anticorrosive zinc-containing paint and varnish. Additional stairs, landing, railings and lighting can be provided for maintenance.
